Workshop for Islamiyat teachers held

LAHORE: The Teachers’ Development Centre (TDC) and the US Consulate organised a workshop and videoconference on “Passing on Islam” in the city on Saturday.

The event is one of the series of digital videoconferences (DVCs) in collaboration with the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). The one-day workshop at Lahore Alma in DHA discussed topics like “Islam in the Classroom and at Home”, “Aspects of Culture, Food, Clothing, Customs and Rituals,” “Book Culture”, “Role Model for Youth Today”, “Teaching Tolerance”, “Respecting Law as a Muslim and a Citizen”, “Celebrating Joy”, “Spending the Currency of Life, Time, Money and Resources”, “Countering Media Perceptions”, “Gender Issues” and “Cyberspace Islam”.

The workshop was facilitated by TDC Director Abbas Husain and attended by 72 teachers from various schools and colleges of the city. TDC Lahore Programme Coordinator Ehtsham Lone conducted the workshop that was aimed at promoting awareness among the youth about Islam. staff report
